Mixed Foursomes

The Murray Harrold trophy is a hotly contested honour board event that has been a fixture of the Vines Golf Club since 1964.

The event will be run over 36 holes over 2 weeks (18 holes each week)

Foursomes is a pairs format. Player A tees off and player B hits the 2nd shot. Player A then hits 3rd and so on until the ball is holed. The event is off-the-stick format (Gross) with a net component also included in the event. The entry must be 1 x Male and 1 x Female golfer.

Entry is $40 per pair and is payable on the first day of play.

The draw will be complete 5 days prior to the first round and a seeded draw complete after round 1.

WEEK 1 NETT WINNER & WEEK 2 NETT WINNER

1. Entries must be made on official entry forms.
2. Entry fee must be paid at the time of entry. No refund after the closing date.
3. No special requests from players requesting to play at a specific time may be accepted at the discretion of the committee.
4. Two-stroke rounds over two Sundays. Order of play, 1st round – Men must playoff odd holes. 2nd round – Men must playoff even holes.
5. NOTE: Maximum Handicaps Men 27, Women 36 (you can be higher but your handicap will automatically adjust to there values)
Combine both your handicaps, divide in half. This is your aggregate handicap. (This will be printed on cards)
The handicap you playoff in the first round, you will retain for the second round.
6. The Match Committee to make all arrangements and have full power to alter or make any variation in the Conditions.
7. The Match Committee to be the absolute umpire of any dispute or protest, which must be lodged in writing at the venue Clubhouse before
6.00 pm on the day on which the dispute has arisen.
8. Cessation of Play – per Local Rules printed on the back of the scorecard.
9. The Rules of Golf, the local rules of the venue Club and the Rules of GSA shall be the Rules of Play.
10. Competitors will be drawn for stroke rounds in such a manner as the Match Committee shall arrange. In the event of a tie in the
Championship, a play-off over the 1st, 9th and 10th holes will be conducted.
a. If still a tie, the decision will be by sudden death over the 1
st and 18th holes until there is a winner.
b. A tie in the Nett handicap section will be decided by a countback over the final18 holes of play.
11. Responsible alcohol consumption is permitted.
12. Competitors must start at the appointed time, unless under circumstances approved by the Match Committee. Competitors must report to
the starter 15 minutes before the appointed tee time. If competitors are up to 5 minutes late, a two-stroke penalty will be awarded. If
over 5 minutes late you will be disqualified. Rule 5.3a (Rules of Golf – Effective January 2019)
13. Only one trophy shall be awarded to any pair of competitors and the Championship placed pairs shall accept the Championship trophies
provided.
14. Ride-on buggies are only permitted on medical evidence. No other player is to share the cart unless the same procedure as above
has been followed and permission has been granted for the second person.
NOTE: Other players sitting on or in, placing golf clubs or other golfing equipment on another’s cart during play maybe
disqualified from the tournament.
15. Practice is permitted in practice areas only.
16. Measuring Devices: The use of a personal measuring device by a competitor is permitted under the following condition. The device must measure DISTANCE ONLY; it must not measure other conditions such as wind
speed or direction, the slope of the ground or the temperature.
